Staying here in Biere is wonderfully quiet. The area is undulating. Agriculture is all around. Close to the A14 for access north to Magdeburg, south to Halle, Bad Salzelman is very close with it's unique salt building and spa, Schonebeck is beautiful, too, as I love the German buildings and those on the Elbe river are colourful and picturesque. In the summer the heat is akin to L.A. and so are the shrubs and plants that line the roadsides and adorn the buildings. Eating out here is very reasonable with a big choice of restaurants and cafes. Fuel for the car is MUCH cheaper in the towns than on the motorways. Driving over from the UK it's cheaper fuel in Holland and filling up is advised for the long drive across Germany. Petrol is much more expensive here than diesel. Come and see for yourself.
